Naked Philosopher
Shankar is a former holy man turned student of humanity who sells peanuts along the banks of the Ganges River in Rishikesh, India, “to survive myself.” Naked Philosopher is a collection of interviews with and footage of religious and philosophical characters recorded by the director during a five-week trip through Northern India. The characters include the eastern poet, a monk who escaped from a Chinese prison in Tibet, a woman from California who is now living in India as a Buddhist nun, a professor of Literature and a 101-year-old hash smoking Baba living in the mountains outside Pushkar. Through their stories and statements, we learn about truth and humanity and hear their subconscious pleas against deception and fanaticism.

Eastern Poet is a human moment, is a one-minute film. It is a glimpse of the longer documentary project entitled Naked Philosopher.
